This policy is about Engine Switch. Engine Switch is not made by, sponsored by, or affiliated with any third-party search provider.

1) Scope

This policy explains what information is processed when you:

• browse the Site,
• submit a contact form on the Site, or
• use the Engine Switch extension in Chrome.

This policy does not replace the privacy policies of Chrome or any third-party search provider you choose.

2) Information we process

A. Website usage data

When you access the Site, standard web request data may be processed by hosting and network providers (for example: IP address, user agent, time of request, requested path, and referrer where available). Engine Switch does not add analytics or advertising cookies through this Site.

B. Contact form data

You can contact us by submitting the form or by sending an email to contact@engine-switch.com.

C. Engine Switch extension

Engine Switch lets you choose a preferred search engine and route address-bar search to that provider.

The extension stores the engine you picked in Chrome sync storage. Chrome sync can copy that setting to other browsers signed into the same Chrome profile. The extension does not receive that copy.

The Engine Switch extension may save data related to your queries, such as search terms, IP address, and user agent. That data is anonymized and used for monitoring and optimizing the service. It is not sold and is not used for advertising.

3) How we use information

We use Site, extension, and correspondence data to:

• operate, secure, monitor, and optimize the Engine Switch service,
• maintain the Site, and
• respond to inquiries you send to contact@engine-switch.com.

We do not sell personal data. Settings and anonymized query-related data are not sold, not used for advertising, and not used to decide credit or lending.

4) Sharing and third parties

Hosting providers may process Site request logs to serve the website.

When you search, your preferred search provider may process the request under its own terms and privacy policy. Engine Switch may process anonymized query-related data as described above for monitoring and optimization.

5) Your controls

You can:

• change the selected engine in the extension popup,
• uninstall Engine Switch or clear its extension data in Chrome, and
• email contact@engine-switch.com to ask about Site correspondence or privacy requests.

6) Data retention

• operational and anonymized monitoring logs are retained according to hosting, security, and service optimization needs,
• correspondence is retained as needed for support and business records,
• the selected engine setting stays in Chrome storage until you change it or remove the extension.

7) Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data, including transport and hosting safeguards appropriate for the Site and service. No method of transmission or storage is guaranteed to be absolutely secure.

8) International processing

Site and service data may be processed in countries where our hosting providers operate.

9) Children's privacy

Engine Switch is not directed to children under the age required by applicable law. If you believe a child provided personal information improperly, contact contact@engine-switch.com so we can review and delete it where applicable.

10) Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material updates will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date on this page.
